As valiant as history books try to portray us, Americans cannot forget the atrocities they committed against the Native Americans. Ithaca College, Wells College, and Cornell University will come together this Saturday at Wells College for the annual Peachtown Native American Festival to celebrate Native American culture with dancing, music, and storytelling.
The reason for hosting it at the end of September is that this is the timing of the fall harvest and the Clinton-Sullivan campaign.
It is hard to look back on the past and know the destruction so many caused to a culture so unique as the Native American culture. It provides closure to know that people are working together to admit mistakes and celebrate the people we wronged in the past.
